To all people, the invention of the internet has been a beneficial one. There is information available readily at your fingertips, and various ways to communicate. The Deaf community, however, has been impacted in specific ways by this relatively-new creation. Communication online and through social media allows Deaf people from across the country and even the world to connect in ways they weren’t able to before. Person to person conversation over the web has allowed for the organization of Deaf advocates, group meet-ups, and a closer understanding of the variety of people who make up the Deaf community. This advancement has also made information about the Deaf world and Deaf history more accessible to those involved with the Deaf community and the general public!
