Reasons to Learn ASL: Combat Audism!

In our world, it can be unfortunate that anyone who is seen as “different” is discriminated against. The Deaf have their own battle with audism: the idea that those who can hear are better than those who cannot. With your knowledge of American Sign Language, you can help bridge a gap between the hearing world and the Deaf world, and fight audism! By becoming educated in both ASL and Deaf culture, you make yourself an advocate in any situation where injustice happens. There are many reasons to learn ASL, but possibly the most important is to create an understanding between two groups of people who see the world very differently: you could be a part of that!
