For English speakers, too much eye contact is considered intense or rude and too little means you might be nervous, unprepared, or insincere.
When making eye contact with people in the Deaf community, the first connection means “I see you.” 👁👁
When Deaf folks meet for the first time, they can usually find each other simply by using their eyes. 🫂
If you look away during a conversation with a person who is Deaf, it implies you are not listening and/or you do not care.
Too much eye contact is never rude for Deaf folks and always appreciated!👍💋
