New Class offering in Everett, WA
—————
Do you know someone who is Deaf and would like to communicate with them?
Have you always wanted to learn Sign Language?
Now is your chance!
Beginning Sign Language Class
This ASL class is for people with NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE using sign language. The course will cover American Sign Language basics: finger-spelling the alphabet, asking questions, numbers, relationships, time, and colors.
American Sign Language (ASL) is an invaluable skill for everyone and fun to learn. Learning to sign is a great way to teach diversity awareness, cultural perspectives, and how to communicate when meeting a Deaf person. A basic grasp of ASL enhances your ability to communicate with Deaf in your community. It’s also a marketable professional skill that can translate into public service jobs.
In just 6 weeks your fingers will be flying!

Michele Poteet is a SODA (Sibling of Deaf Adult), with American Sign Language (ASL) being her first language. She was born and raised in California, attending Deaf events and socializing with the community.
Michele went to college in Oregon, initially attending culinary school and obtaining a business degree. While in school, she took two years of ASL for fun, and fell in love with the language all over again. She spent her last summer in college teaching high school students ASL I with the support of her college professor.
A few years later, Michele moved to Tri-Cities, Washington and became an educational interpreter. She interpreted for four years before moving to the Seattle area in summer of 2018. She continues to interpret for the school district and is obtaining her Master’s Degree in teaching ASL.
In her spare time, Michele enjoys traveling spending time at the beach, scuba diving, hiking, tasting desserts, and taking her dog everywhere!
