You do not have to be Deaf yourself to ask for access to communication resources. 👋
If you notice something is inaccessible in a public space or even at a friend’s house (hint: closed captions for your favorite show), say something! 📺
The most tiring thing for a person who is Deaf or hard of hearing is advocating for themselves. 🙇🧏
Half of the day, Deaf folks work on their daily tasks, and the other half, they often spend time researching sources who will listen and understand their frustrations, and then educate the sources that are inaccessible. Inaccessibility is an exhausting experience that often leads to feelings of anger and resentment when there is no support. 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏼🙋🏽♂️ Advocacy is community building and the solution!
