Baby Signing Workshops

Workshops introduce you to the benefits of signing with your pre-verbal baby and how to get started communicating with your baby on your own. The cost for the one-time two-hour workshop is $40 per person or $50 per couple. The SIGN with your BABY® book is the required course material. Participants will leave with a minimum of 50 new ASL signs to use with their pre-verbal baby.

Baby Signing Classes in your home

In-home instruction is recommended for those who enjoy learning in the comfort of their own home and among friends. Classes are held once a week for six consecutive weeks and are an hour in length. The cost for the entire six-week instruction is $120 and covers instruction for two people who will be interacting with the same baby. The required course-book, SIGN with your BABY® is included in the course fee. There is a four family minimum for in-home instruction, so hosts need to coordinate with three other families – invite your friends! A minimum of 100 new ASL signs will be introduced over the course of six weeks. Great option for parenting groups. 

Baby Signing Classes open to the public

Classes open to the public are held in various venues and are recommended for those who enjoy learning among large groups. Classes are held once a week for six consecutive weeks, and are an hour in length. The cost for the entire six-week instruction is $120 and covers instruction for two people who will be interacting with the same baby. The required course-book, SIGN with your BABY® is included in the course fee. A minimum of 100 new ASL signs will be introduced over the course of six weeks.

Baby Signing classes for corporate employees

Classes for corporate employees are offered at various businesses through employee Wellness Programs. We work you’re your place of business to create the best teaching arrangement. If you would like to see classes offered at your place of work, contact us for information.

Sing and Sign Classes

Sing and Sign classes are recommended for the pre-school child and their families. Sing and Sign lessons are generally held once a week for six consecutive weeks, and are 30 minutes in length. The cost for the entire six-week instruction varies depending on the class location. Curriculum is based on the Sign2Me Pick Me Up! Music CD and Activity Guide. A minimum of 50 signs will be introduced over the course of four weeks.

Signing with Young Children Workshops

Workshops are geared towards child-care providers who must meet the needs of many children at once. These workshops will teach you the basics of incorporating signs into your child-care center and how signs like STOP and SHARE teach children to play together better. Workshops are four-hours in length and broken up into two workshops. The cost for the workshop depends on the amount of childcare providers attending. A minimum of 100 ASL signs will be introduced over the course of the workshops as well as familiar children stories and songs.

Sign Language Fun Classes

Created especially for the school-aged child, Visually Speaking’s Sign Language FUN classes keep both the child and adult in mind while taking the difficulty out of learning a new language! We have fun learning ASL through art, stories, play, and music. All classes are taught by members of the Deaf community, providing both an educational and cultural experience! Classes are held once a week, for an hour in length and can run anywhere from four to ten weeks depending on the preference of the hosting school.

ASL cOoL Classes

Created especially for the middle-school child, Visually Speaking’s ASL cOoL classes are fun and educational and draw on topics and activities that teens are interested in. Classes give students the foundation for learning a second language as well as teach them about diversity awareness, cultural perspectives and how to communicate with someone whom is Deaf or Hard of Hearing that they may encounter in life. ASL cOoL classes are a great high school preparation course for those that wish to take ASL as their foreign language in high school. Classes are offered after school for 1 – 2 hours, once a week and run anywhere from eight to 12 weeks depending on the preference of the hosting school.
